New phone registration

Question

Hi,

I have read the related Topics in the Forum; there are similar Problems, but no answer really solves my Problem.

I have Setup a new Windows 8 (64)
and Visual Studio Express 2012 Phone

I bought a new Nokia Lumia 920

I tried to Register my phone. The detection works.
I start the registration
I Login with my MS Account (Developer Account is active)

I get the Error message 0x80043001 saying "Your device is not registrated in the Win Phone Marketplace ..."

What did I Forget?

Cheers Achim (HansBACnet)

The error means that the ID you entered is not associated with any Active developer account.
(... or, more accurately, the registration service was unable to find any "publisher" (company) that lists the account, associated with your ID, as Active.)

---------------------------

What type of account do you have?
(ex: Student, Individual, or Company)

Did you ever experience a problem that required you to create a new Dev Center account?

Is the Microsoft ID you use for your developer account linked to any other Microsoft IDs?

Thanks Eric.

I have an individual account (no second one linked) that is working normally. I recently downloaded the Express VS 2012 Versions to try phone development with this ID. I never got error messages related to my ID.

  • The text of the message ("Your device is not registrated in the Win Phone Marketplace") says to me that it is a problem of a device. Could it be the case that this brand new phone type is not "in the marketplace"
  • During my search in the Forum I encountered often, that some People payed some money as an yearly fee (related special to phone dev). Sometimes it was 8$, sometime regular 80$, I never came upon this; it's not a problem to do this, but where?

No, I have a retail 920 and have no problem registering it.  The error message could be better... the specific error code is what I use to determine that the cause is related to some problem with your Dev Center account properties.

I will talk with some people I know on the account management support team to see what they can do to help diagnose the problem.  You will probably need to open a support ticket, if you do be sure to reference this thread.

You need to have paid developer account for Windows Phone development. There should be a link for that on the main Windows Dev Center page (http://dev.windowsphone.com).
