Question

I've just published <g class="gr_ gr_9 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Style multiReplace" data-gr-id="9" id="9">a .</g>Net website to an Azure Web App. I've attached a custom domain name, by creating the following DNS records as I have done for several other Azure websites in the past:

mydomain.com.au    A    xx.xx.xx.xx (mywebsite.azurewebsites.net IP address)
mydomain.com.au    TXT  mywebsite.azurewebsites.net
www.mydomain.com.au    CNAME    mywebsite.azurewebsites.net

When I navigate to the site via mywebsite.azurewebsites.net, the site loads up to the default page just fine. When I attempt to access mydomain.com.au or www.mydomain.com.au I am presented with a login challenge, that results in a 401 error when I click cancel. I get the same result from mydomain.com.au/default.aspx. Default.aspx is the only entry in the Default Documents section of Application Settings. I have also checked that App Service Authentication is turned off.

What could be causing this behavior?
