We make use of Batch for tasks that are network intensive as opposed to CPU intensive, and they'd be ideally suited for B series VMs. Is it possible to make these available?

Product suggestions can be registered here.

B series are not currently supported and support is not currently planned.  Our focus tends to be toward HPC workloads so leveraging idle cores and/or the burst model is not a primary focus at this time (autoscale not withstanding because of allocation latencies).  We are always interested in and learn from alternate use patterns so please add your suggestion to the site above and we will keep it in mind as features are evaluated for resourcing.  You are not alone in asking for B series support and the more voices we hear the better the chances are for the product to evolve in the direction of your ask.
