Question

I'm getting the error message in the title. Full text below:

Error:

We are not able to retrieve the runtime master key. Please try again later.

Session Id: 6d9ceee159d74b2c8961aec66b30a1c8

Timestamp: 2017-09-22T18:25:35.013Z

I've seen this error intermittently after publishing my function from Visual Studio. Was usually able to resolve it by renaming the secrets & wwwroot folders, then publishing again. This workaround doesn't seem to work anymore. Any suggestions? This seems related to Github issue https://github.com/Azure/Azure-Functions/issues/226, but the suggested fixes there aren't helping.

Thanks!

Are you able to run any functions that would let you share your function name privately so I can take a look at the logs?

If not, you can try this approach as well.

Created a new function called dummy87384. The function with issues is ju*ns. Thanks!

I get this pretty consistently on one of my function apps, happens to be on the beta version if that makes any difference.  It comes and goes at different times of the day and ends up resolving itself without me changing anything.  If I absolutely must work with the function and monitor what is going on then I will turn on or off a feature in the settings and that give it a kick in the pants to start working again for a few hours.  Earlier today I turned on slots, just now I had to switch on proxies. Figure this triggers a reset or something that gets things flowing again.
