Hi

I'm wondering if its possible to create a new subscription using PS or Azure CLI ?

We have an EA account and it will be useful for us to create a new subscription without going to the Portal

Thanks

Hi Sathish,

Greetings from Microsoft Azure!

Azure PowerShell and Azure CLI cmdlets operates on an Azure subscription object, not your actual Azure subscription. To create and provision an Azure subscription visit Azure portal.

And there's no REST API or any other programmatic method for creating a subscription. Subscriptions have related security checks, specific plans, payment methods, etc. This part must be done via the https://manage.windowsazure.com/ or https://ms.portal.azure.com portal.

Once this is completed, then you can use the cmdlets to create, test, deploy, and manage solutions and services delivered through the Azure platform using Azure PowerShell or Azure CLI.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Pradeep
