I am looking for connecting Amazon Redshift to Azure Data Catalog. Will Microsoft be coming up with this in near future?

Hi Sam,

Support for Amazon RedShift data sources is on our roadmap, but is unlikely to be available in the next few months.

Hi,

Could you provide an update on where this is on the roadmap?

Cheers,

It looks like Azure Data Catalog does not yet support connecting to Amazon Redshift as a named data source BUT I was able to configure the connection as a generic ODBC source.

Here are links which will be useful.

https://docs.aws.amazon.com/redshift/latest/mgmt/configuring-connections.html

https://docs.aws.amazon.com/redshift/latest/mgmt/configure-odbc-connection.html

The settings I used after installing the Amazon provided ODBC drivers from the links above are, the actual server addresses, usernames etc. values are made up

Provider - "Amazon Redshift (x64)"

Connection String - "Server=10.10.10.100;port=5394"

Database - yourdbname

User - authoriseduser

password - yourpassword

Hope this helps someone.
