I have uploded Powerpivot workbook in sharepoint powerpivot gallery. I have a source excel file(ABC) also in the gallery. I am tring to connect ABC(excel file) as my source file. The connection is like \\server\\DavWWWRoot\Powerpivotgalley\ABC.xlsx
Manage data refresh in sharepoint gives me the below error. I am using windows credentials and have full permissions.
OLE DB or ODBC error: The Microsoft Access database engine cannot open or write to the file ‘\\server\\DavWWWRoot\Powerpivotgalley\ABC.xlsx. It is already opened exclusively by another user, or you need permission to view and write its data.; 3051. A connection could not be made to the data source with the DataSourceID of ‘a8aca1f4-f683-40ce-ae63-f971c9b8d098′, Name of ‘Excel ABC’. An error occurred while processing the table. The operation has been cancelled.
What would be the cause.

In your case, I recommend you that refer to the following article about enabling and configuring PowerPivot Data Refresh to ensure all processes are correct. Please see:

Thanks for the reply.
I followed the same instructions and facing the same issue. I am using windows authentication for data refresh.

Did you ever figure this one out ? I have been fighting a similar issue all day.
Hope to hear from you

Explicitly adding the port worked for me. So try \\server@80\\DavWWWRoot\Powerpivotgalley\ABC.xlsx (if it is on port 80)

Have you defined data schedule for refresh?

I figured this one out for me..
as PowerPivot is using webdav and we are using FQDN internally.
we have to configure webdav to allow users to automatically logon.
follow this on your powerpivot servers, solved it for me.
