accessing the schema information (like table names) lead to errors (or timeouts). As you can see in the screenshot, the MySQL Workbench (https://www.mysql.com/products/workbench/) I am using is not able to fetch the tables:
Also, when using Tableau (https://www.tableau.com/de-de) to access our data we have to wait approx. 4 min to retrieve the table names...
On the beginning of the week we also had similar problems in our own applications. Requesting the table names from the information_schema took very long which led to errors because of the connection limit.
This very urgent and critical issue was solved (in our own applications) with a workaround which is not accessing the table names...
Thanks in advance!

Do you have an Azure support plan? This needs to be looked at by support. If you do not have an Azure support plan, I can have a one time incident ticket created to have this investigated. Please send your Azure subscription GUID to AzCommunity at Microsoft.com and I will return instructions to have a support ticket created and this issue investigated.

The solution to this issue is to scale up your current provisioned service tier as it is unable to support the quantity of information being stored by the MySQL PaaS deployment select, which is the Basic service tier.
