Hi All.

Does anyone know of an Azure tool or a script that will tell me what VMs have not yet been configured for backup?

cant see it in the Backup Reports App and so far have been unable to find a quick solution that will work across all RSVs.

Hello AndyPerthOz,

AFAIK, there is no supported tool that will tell you if VMs have not yet been configured for backup. Please note: until you complete the protect an Azure VM steps, the VM is "not yet configured for backup"

Also Are you referring to the Azure Backup report solution detailed here

Cheers.

Hello Andy,

Good Day !

1. In the Resource Vaults, under protected items, click on backup items, you will be able to see which VM's are getting backed up.

2. For VM's to be enabled for backup, you need to perform the following activity as mentioned in the URL: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/virtual-machines/windows/tutorial-backup-vms#create-a-backup,

In case a VM is no more available in the Backup Items, then someone might have removed the VM from the backup.

There some known issue with Azure Backup and solution for the same has been given, please refer: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/backup/backup-azure-vms-troubleshoot
