From Ankit Timbadia @AnkitTimbadia via Twitter:
"Hi, how much time does it take to purge the cache in CDN created from the new azure portal. Creating a CDN took 32 hours, so my only concern is that how much time will it take if i purge the entire cache."

It takes up to 2-3 mins to purge single object or entire website.

The CDN uses second-hit caching by default. If a user requests an object that's not in cache, it will be served from the origin until the second request for it writes it to cache. There's no delay in being able to serve new objects from the CDN using the same endpoint and origin server from which you previously did a purge.
