Hello,

I'm testing an application I developed in the past with Visual Studio 2012 under Windows 8.1 Pro and I have noticed that it doesn't run with Kinect for XBOX 360, it runs only with Kinect for Windows. I thought it was supported in developing environment. I developed all my Kinect Apps with the cheapest device, why doesn't it work now?

You need the old SDK to use the kinect 360  (sdk 1.7 or 1.8).
I actually have done 2 projects on windows 10, and a different PC with windows 7.
Later that 7 was upgraded to 10. So i skipped Windows 8.1 but it should work there too.

HOWEVER, if you first install kinect 360 and then later the kinect one (v2 SDK), you cannt use the 360 anymore.
But i'm running a windows 10 machine here who never had a kinect one, using the xbox360 with the 1.7 SDK, it works fine.

Also be aware that 360 are hard to get these days, new models are no longer made, but old ones are still re-selled at Ebay, from people who sell their old toys. If you want to create something to sell to other you better base it on the kinect one, which also has a much better depth resolution and mechanics (512x 412 pixels using time of flight)
the 360 had a much lower resultion from which only about 12.5% was calculated depth, all other pixels where calculated by those few pixels..

Thank you PGT2008 for your reply.

Is posible that this is happening to me...
