Well, there's documentation out there about everything else related to this topic BUT adding a VM Machine to a DevLab.

So, anyone have any remoteness of a clue that, despite there being an option to view all VM's in my DevLab, mine isn't showing up when I try adding this?

This is the most stupidest system they have on the go. Why can't they just have an option of  "Add an existing VM from Subscription and/or existing resource group" or am I just using my brain here again?

I have a habit of doing that. My bad!

You cannot directly add your existing VM from a different resource group/subscription to the DevTest Lab.

You could create and upload a custom image VHD to the Lab as per your requirement, then use the VHD file to create a VM inside the Lab.

You can choose any of the following links to upload a VHD file:

For more details, refer this documentation: Create a custom image from a VHD file

You can see all lab VM’s under ‘All virtual machines’ tab.
