I have a PowerPivot File published to a PowerPivot gallery on SharePoint, here:
http://home.company.com/sites/hcs/BI/PP/PowerPivot Gallery/POG.xlsx
When I try to use this PowerPivot file as a SQL Server Analysis Services Data Connection I get the following error:
Failed to connect to the server. Reason: The following system error occurred: Invalid class string
The following system error occurred:
What am I missing here?

Hi JIckes,
In this case, could you please help to collect ULS logs to us for further investigation? We can use UlsViewer, which is a handy tool available at http://code.msdn.microsoft.com/ULSViewer
Furthermore, it seems that you want to use a PowerPivot file from client application(Such as Excel). If you can describe your environment with more detail, it will benefit for us to reproduce this issue. So, it can be difficult to determine where the problem
lies. But I recommand you take a look at the following article:
