Hi Team,

I am trying to achieve SSO using SAML Authentication in SSRS 2016. I had already implemented Forms Authentication in SSRS 2016 which is working fine but not able to do Authentication using SAML 2.0 . Can you guys share a working solution ?

Thanks,

Sameer

Hi Sameer,

I have been trying to achieve same and like you i was able to implemented forms authentication. For now i am trying to achieve this using a simple login application by using machine key which i have used in web config of report server but still that isn't working . For now i have hard coded the credentials of Report Server on button click and triggered button click event on on page load so my page does'nt prompts for password and is directly redirected to reports. This isnt seems to be the right solution but but our report server is only accesible from our website so it is not a problem in our case but will keep you posted once i implemet a right solution.

Hi sameer,

I was able to implement sso using machine Key. If you are trying to do same please ensure that your both applications share same domain.(in my case it was just an simple login application with forms authentication). It worked for me but now again i am facing issues for Annonymous Logon in SSRS 2016.

Thanks,

Hi Kamal,

I am also at same point. Anonymous login is creating problem for me too. If I allow anonymous login then it allows all users to proceed without login which kills the purpose of Forms Authentication. SAML base authentication can overcome all these issues but I am stuck in there. Try SAML authentication for SSRS if you can find something. I'm also working in that direction but still no success.

Please update if you get a break through.

Thanks,
Sam
