Hi Everyone

Good day to all of you.

I really appreciate if you can help me on this.

We have 5 different teams in our department and they have their own internal email ID. There are list of applications support by these teams. Supporting applications are unique to these teams. That mean, one application supported by 'A' team is not supported by 'B' team or any other team.

Queries related to different applications are send by external users via Outlook to our main (generic) mail ID. Currently we have to check their mails and assign queries to the relevant team based on the application. This process is very difficult task was we need to read and understand to which team that query is relevant to.

Therefore, I thought of create a Outlook template where users can select the relevant application from drop down list (comboBox ). Based on the application selected by the user, mail ID (To:) has to be changed according to the relevant supporting team.

Eg:

Application         Supporting team          e-mail ID

A, B, C                 Apple team                   apple@xyz.com

G, H, I                 Orange team                 orange@xyz.com

J, K, L                  Mango team                  mango@xyz.com

If user select 'A' application mail ID should be changed to apple@xyz.com  (in address ID)

If user select 'K' application mail ID should be changed to mango@xyz.com (in address ID)

Hope you understand my request and if you need any clarification from me, kindly let me know. This is how I thought to resolve this matter. If you all have any suggestion to do this in different way I'm very happy to discuss. Greatly appreciate if someone can help me on this.

Thanks in advance.

Hello Dushyantha,

What application do you want to create now? It seems that it is a simple combo box we could select item to change the mail receiver's address. If so, I think the main key point is how to create the combo box in Outlook, right? Have you consider about creating an Outlook custom form? Or using VSTO add-in to custom ribbon to show the combo box in the ribbon.

If not, please try to detail what you are developing. Did I misunderstand your need?

Best Regards,

Terry

Hi Terry

Good day to you

I need to create Outlook template (custom form) where users can select the relevant application from the drop down list. Once they have select the application, mail receivers email address should be changed according to the application selected by the user.

Kindly find the below structure and let me know if you need any further details.
