Thanks for your posting.
>>the different aspects of an HTTP
Would you mind describing it more clearly? What's the exact meaning of it?
I only know that each HTTP request consists of 3 sections: request line, headers and body.
This article explains it with more details which might help.
Please feel free to let me know I misunderstood it.

In Web Test, the HTTP request will be recorded by Web Performance Test Recorder and there are four parts will be shown in Visual Studio, Headers, Cookies, QueryString Parameters and Form Post Parameters. It will be shown as following screenshot.
The Headers contains the HTTP request header, which contains Host, Accept-Encoding, Accept-Language and so on.
The Cookies contains cookie values that passed in HTTP request.
The QueryString Parameters and Form Post Parameters contains the parameters that the HTTP request send to server side. They listed as key-value pair in list.
And every HTTP request will get a Status code when it send to server. The Status code will tell us whether the request successful or not. And there also contains request time and request bytes information in Web Test.
