Question

I created a new MVVM Light Windows 8.1 project.  The project template added a temporary key from that library's author.  I then associated the app with my developer account in the Windows store.  Now I get the error:

Error 8 The Publisher attribute of the Identity element in the app manifest must have the value of the Publisher ID value from your developer account: {my dev account id}.

However, the developer ID shown is the one for my developer account.  How do I resolve this?

Hi roschler,

Thanks for the post. I am moving this to the development forums for you to get a more informed response.

Hi roschler,

Take a look at Resolving package upload errors, and another similar post you can see: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsapps/en-US/02131f39-1db4-448c-9eb4-3aeea6b2aca7/signing-app-with-enterprise-certificate-when-associated-with-store?forum=windowsstore

There is the explanation for such error:

The Publisher attribute of the Identity element in the app manifest must be exactly: [Publisher ID]

The Publisher attribute of the Package/Identity element in the app manifest must match your  Publisher ID in the Windows Store.

For more info, see Building the app package manually.
