Question

We have on site TFS. Typically our testers use MTM, and create nested suites in a Feature>Function hierarchy and add the test cases at function level. This means test cases aren't linked to our work board, and not easy to find when viewing a requirement on the work board.

I'm encouraging the use of adding test cases via the test case pane of the requirements on the board, and then importing them as requirement based suites - but the team still wants these grouped by feature. If i query for a feature when adding a requirement based suite it just adds an empty suite with no test cases bound to my Feature WI.

Is there a way to customize this so that I can simply add my Feature WI to the test plan, which will in turn create nested requirements based suites for all requirements that are a child of the feature?

Hi MH61,

The Test cases are linked by Tested By link type will be exist in the related requirement based suite.

There isn’t the way to custom MTM to just add feature WIT to the test plan, then it will create nested requirements based suites.
