Dear All,we are trying to pgrade our SQL Server 2012 Developer to SQL Server 2012 Standard Edition.

We have cheked this upgrade path is supported on the official forum.

Ou r problem is that during the evaluation phase of the upgrade we receve this warning:"The selected edition downgrade path is not valid. The source Developer edition and the target Standard edition is not supported path".

What could be the cause?

Many thanks in advance for any helpyou can provide me.

Hello,

Are you upgrading from Developer 32-bit to Standard 64-Bit? Cross platform upgrade is not supported.

If the instance is clustered then the upgrade path is not supported.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

we are moving from 64 bot to 64 bit without cluster/failover mode.

Is ther any way to find out more details about this warning? we would be sure everything will go smooth in the migration process.

Hello,

I don’t have knowledge of a Web resource with detailed information on that error message.

Are you using encryption or compression on the drive hosting the SQL Server installation?

Run a Discovery Report and share with us the result of that report. Maybe we get an unexpected result of that report.

Hope this helps.

How are you performing the upgrade? Are you using Edition Upgrade, as documented here: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc707783(v=sql.110).aspx ?

Hi,

I am not in a failover cluster situation.

I have a 64 bit Developer Sp1 that I would migrate to 64 bit Standard Edition SP3

I followed the instructions on the relative page but I am blocked at point 8 "The Edition Upgrade Rules page validates your computer configuration before the edition upgrade operation begins." cause I still receive a message that states "Upgrade Path from Developer to Standard is not suported" within the "Downgrade" section.

Any idea that could solve this issue? I have a lto of configuration on this machine and I would avoid to reinstall everything.
