Four Part Names alternatives in SQL Azure.

Currently we are in the process of migrating on-premise data base to SQL azure.During the migration we found some issues related to four part names. Please see below for the same.

1. We have used four part names in the existing database .

2. We have used views to get the data from different databases with in the same server.

Any help/comments to address the above mentioned issues highly appreciated.

Good day,

Cross database queries using three or four part names is not supported in Azure SQL Server. You can read more in the official documentation:

Features not supported in SQL Database

The solution  can be to use elastic database. The elastic database query feature (in preview) enables you to run a Transact-SQL query that spans multiple databases in Azure SQL Database (SQLDB). Check this link for more information.
