I have two questions related to powerBI and will appreciate if someone can help me
1) I want to add a calendar filter to the view where the user can select a start and end date. Is it possible in powerBI?
2) I am using an SSAS cube in powerBI. In some of the tables, I need to change the titles/heading of columns. Is there anyway to rename the column headings?

Regarding your 1st question. The answer is "Yes". As shown on the picture below, Power BI slicer can now be set in "BETWEEN" mode if you will .. and users can filter by start and end dates.
It 's "No" to your second question. SSAS model metadata (column names are part of matadata) are stored in SSAS and hence can be changed only directly in analysis services.
