Hi I'm trying to use a circulation list to send information to my costumers.

I'm not an expert on this field, so the answer has to be set on dummy level.

This is what I've done: created the list, added an item and approved. But nothing happened.

The I have created a workflow (with a help, of course): send email with current item= recipients. A "define e-mail message "windows comes out. I set field "to" equal to current item: recipients, the a subject the a test in the body. I put as well some logs to see if everything is working.

So far I obtain that the work flow has no error and it end correctly but again no mail sent.

I hope I've explained corectly and clearly the situation.

Do I miss something? There's some feature that has to be activated?

Many thanks for help!

Is your farm setup to use outbound email? if you are unsure, when the workflow is finished you should see a link that says 'Completed', click it, do you see a message that says something similar to:

The e-mail message cannot be sent. Make sure the outgoing e-mail settings for the server are configured correctly.

if so then your outbound email needs configuring.

if you dont see this message, add some history logs to the workflow so you can see which pieces get done and which dont.

Thanks Sergio

when I set task, for instance, the task owner receive email, so I assume that the e-mail feature is somehow active.

I put on workflow some logs (beginning and end) and I see all of them whr i go to the workflow page status. The status work flow is completed, no errors are shown... But the status column in the circulation lists stays on 0 over 1 (0/1). As test I put, of course, my name.

Confirming or not the new circulation list item doesn't change the result.

Hi

1. check/replace  it in the "To" field with a valid email address - insert it by hand

2. If no error was reported by the workflow, this mean that the email was sended!

( to check if SMTP server is corectly configured check this procedure

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/323350?wa=wsignin1.0

)

3. If the receiver doesn't received it, check if firewall on SHP server don't block 25 UDP port ( SMTP standard port )

and alos other firewall existing in your network
