Question

Hi All,

I planned to reinstall SQL Server 2008 R2 (licensed Version) since there was some issue in my SQL server 2008 R2 express edition.

I have uninstalled everything my machine then try to installing.

the following error has occurred. After i Click Cancel. Set up will be installed with failure.

Hello,

There could be some remnants of the previous installation on that computer. Please try to manually uninstall SQL Server with the following resource:

http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en/sqlexpress/thread/4d6158a1-b601-428c-aad4-a1716e76de1a (procedure explained by YoYo Yu)

 

 

Although related to SQL Server 2008, they apply to SQL Server 2008 R2.

Hello,

Thanks for the update.

We already tried the YoYo Yu procedure. But it didn't help me.

I just installed 3.5 SP1 and uninstalled VS 2008 from my machine then try to install SQL server setup. It is successfully installed.
