How can I install CTP3.2 with SSRS in native mode ?

When I try I get a warning window, saying it will only install in sharepoint mode.

Actual Text is

Setup limited to Reporting Services for SharePoint

This server is running Windows Service 2008 R2.  You can continue with setup to install or upgrade Reporting Services functionality in SharePoint:

  • Reporting Services - SharePoint
  • Reporting Services - Add-in for SharePoint Products

I just want native mode, I don't have sharepoint.

thanks in advance.

Hi Sotn,

According to your description, you are trying to install SQL Server Reporting Services 2016 CTP2 Native model which is not allowed, right?

To install SSRS native mode, on the Feature Selection page, select the following:

  • (1) Database Engine Services, unless an instance of the database engine is already installed.

  • (2) Reporting Services-Native.

  • (3) Management Tools – Basic.

Based on the link below, we can know that SSRS 2016 can be installed in Native model. In your scenario, which steps do you get this warning? Please provide us some screenshots bout it and ensure that the install steps are correct, please refer to the link below.

Thanks for he reply.

Yes I was expected to chose native mode during the install/feature part of the process, but following your link and then a link in that document, I've found that SQL 2016 is not supported on Windows 2008R2, so we are building a new Windows 2012 server today and will try to install there.
