Question

Hi,

I am developing since some years an C# application using an SQL Compact 3.5 database together. But after changing my computer and environment I have now only the System.Data.SqlServerCe version 4.0 as an assembly in my project. I don't know how to get here the version 3.5. As long as I only use the existing database everything is working but when I try to change the schema of the database within my program I get the message "wrong database version".

Is there a simple way to change the System.Data.SqlServerCe to version 3.5?

Hi,

is there a difference in connecting SQL Compact 3.5 or SQL Compact 4.0? I am using C# in VS2017

Hi friend,

Have you installed SQL Server Comoact 3.5 SP2 runtime?

Feel free to let me know if it works.

Fletcher

You must reference different versions of System.Data.SqlServerCe.dll for each version:

For 3.5: AssemblyVersion 3.5.1

For 4.0: AssemblyVersion 4.0.0
