Here is my defined measure:  

DEFINE   

MEASURE'Application'[Sum True Apps] = SUM([Num True Apps])  

EVALUATE

Here is the error I keep getting and don't know why.

Parsing the query ...

Query (3, 44) Calculation error in measure 'Application'[Sum True Apps]: The SUM function only accepts a column reference as the argument number 1.

The most likely reason is that [Num True Apps] is another measure and like the error message says, you need to pass a column reference to the SUM() function
